1. FUTURE OF ECONOMIC SCIENCE (Edited):
Dr.Puttaswamaiah has to his credit publications covering classical Economists, Neo-classical Economists and Modern Economists including Nobel Laureates which have been published as already mentioned in the previous pages. In this book, an attempt is made to ponder over the subject of Economics from the angle of its “future”. In this work, an attempt is also made to project economics as it might be in the next few decades in totality; an attempt is also made to project this science in the “Future” as it may be in its various areas like Development Economics, Applied Economics, Econometrics and the Philosophy of Economics. These a few examples and the book covers almost all areas in Economics and Econometrics. There are about forty chapters authored by eminent economists from the all parts of the world to this work.
“The very title of this enormous volume is enough to indicate the outrageous daring project that K.Puttaswamaiah has devised and succeeded to manage. More than forty specialists give their opinion and produce their analysis on nearly 900 pages treating in an original way a great variety of topics: globalisation, non linearity, finance, development, institutional economics, neural networks…. A superb realization which will remain of interest in the remote future…”
-Gilbert Abraham-Frois, Professor, University Paris-X-Nanterre.
2. GROWTH OF ECONOMICS IN THE TWENTIETH CENTURY AND AFTER.(Edited):
In this book the development of Economics during the Twentieth century in its various spheres is described and critically analyzed. There are about thirty chapters authored by specialized economists from all over the world. The book contains critical analysis of the works of Adams Smith, Joseph Schumpeter, Karl Marx, Marshall, Pigou, J.M. Keynes, J.R. Hicks, Paul A. Samuelson, other Economists, and the history of economic thought during this century.
“Rarely in one place has such an eminent group of prolific scholars explored the twists and turns of the development of the discipline known as the ‘Queen of the social sciences’. From Quesnay we move to Smith, Malthus and Marx, catch our breath with four chapters on Marshall and five on Keynes, before ending with Samuelson, Coase, Klein and the recently departed Galbraith. Along the journey we meander through Adolph Lowe, general equilibriumanalysis and the Chicago School. These essays reveal the passion and insight of our leading practitioners and demonstrate clearly the value of the history of economic ideas.”
-John Lodewijks, Professor & Head, University of Western Sydney.
3. MILTON FRIEDMAN -A MONETARY ECONOMIST (Edited).
“MILTON FRIEDMAN” was a member of the Editorial Advisory Committee of the International Journal of Applied Economics and Econometrics. A Special issue of IJAEE in Memory of “MILTON FRIEDMAN” is published in three parts. This special issue is edited for the book which is published.
“This book presents papers covering a large range of Friedman analysis since it deals not only with Friedman influence on monetary policy, opposition to Keynesian “consensus”, economic stabilization but also with methodological issues and conflicts. Large variety of views as well as critical contributions by internationally renowned scholars constitute a remarkable volume which will be of interest to a large group of scholars all over the world.”
-Gilbert Abraham-Frois, Professor, University Paris-X-Nanterre, France.
4. FRANCO MODIGLIANI – A PEEARLESS TWENTIETH CENTURY MACRO ECONOMIST (Edited).
Foreward by PAUL A SAMUELSON, A NOBEL LAUREATE IN ECONOMICS
“…demonstrates his autonomous originality and his breadth in economic research-indeed he was described as a ‘complete, horizontally and vertically integrated, economic research system’. In the chapter by March Hayford on the life-cycle model, Modigliani’s work is regarded as an example of economic science at its best. This model has spawned an incredibly rich empirical legacy which has vastly increased our understanding of saving and consumption. The chapter by Andrea Micocci shifts our attention away from theory to policy-making in Italy to which Modigliani was actively involved-especially in issues relating to the Euro, the European union and the role of the Central Bank. It provides a provocative account of Italian politics and the constraints on the economic scientist in the policy realm.”
-John Lodewijks, University of Western Sydney, Australia
